Established in 2008
Established in 2008, CURE Ethiopia performs over 3,000 life-changing reconstructive and orthopedic surgeries every year for children suffering from treatable disabilities. Located in Addis Ababa, the hospital has 70 beds and four operating rooms. In partnership with The College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa, we serve as a regional teaching hospital with orthopedic pediatric training programs at the residency and fellowship levels. In addition to world-class clinical service, CURE Ethiopia ministers to the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their communities.
3,000+ Surgeries Each Year
We celebrate God’s provision this year. CURE Ethiopia has seen 12,524 patients, performed 3,100+ life-changing surgeries, provided 24 training events for healthcare professionals, and shared the gospel and the love of Jesus with nearly 2,600 people!
Ethiopia’s First Gait Lab
In partnership with the Oxford Gait Laboratory (UK), CURE Ethiopia launched the country’s first gait lab in 2019 to serve patients with neuromuscular conditions. Through a motion capture system that detects reflective spheres attached to the patient’s legs, we can objectively measure a patient’s walking pattern. The procedure is not painful and gives valuable data on joint movements, as well as the direction of force. The lab assists doctors in making decisions about clinical care for children with cerebral palsy, and it opens up new opportunities for research.
